Our goal is to unearth those unsung “Black Unicorns” who spin their magic in the shadows while working tirelessly to bring their talents, passion and vision to light. We want to let the world know that we are here. We aim to inspire and educate the next generation of artists by sharing our unique stories.

Chu Tang
Chu is a Senior Graphics Engineer at Soul Machines. She received a BA in Mathematics from UC Berkeley. She launched her career in CG at IBM's Cadam Inc. and joined VFX at SPI's R&D team in 1995.
She lit her first shot at Dream Quest Images for "Mighty Joe Young." She was a shader writer/artist for Weta, where she worked on LOTR trilogy and "King Kong". She developed the plant shader for "Avatar".
Chris White
Chris White is a Visual Effects Supervisor with over 25 years of industry experience. From feature films and streaming media to special venue projects, he has a passion for making engaging environments, creatures, and effects. His work has been recognized with multiple awards from the Visual Effects Society, along with Academy Award, BAFTA, and Emmy nominations.
Some of his more notable work includes Twister, Star Wars Episode I, Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King, King Kong, Avatar, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, and The Umbrella Academy. He is currently working on the Avatar sequels at Weta Digital in New Zealand.
Audrea Topps Harjo has worked in the entertainment industry for over twenty-five years. She has worked for Sony Pictures (CONTACT) Cinesite (X-MEN 2), Electronic Arts, WETA Digital (RISE OF THE PLANETS OF THE APES), James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment (AVATAR SEQUELS).
She is currently in development on numerous projects and resides in Washington DC
Krystal Cooper
Krystal Cooper is a Sr. Technical Producer at Unity Technologies. With 12+ years of experience in visual effects, animation, film, tv and immersive media (including stints at ILM, Walt Disney Studios, Rhythm & Hues).

She is also a lecturer at the Art Center College of Design and STEM advocate.
Kim Belair
Kim Belair is a writer, narrative designer and the CEO and co-founder of Sweet Baby Inc, a narrative development company based in Montreal. Part of the games industry since 2013, she's worked with companies including Rocksteady, Insomniac, Panic, KO_OP, Valve, and JuVee Productions to bring games and other stories to life.
Charles Webb
Charles Webb is a Black, queer Florida native and game writer. He got his start writing mobile romance games, later becoming a critic at sites like Nerdist and Screen Anarchy (formerly TwitchFilm). His most recent projects include Mafia III (2016) and the upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Marcella Brown
Marcella has worked for ScanlineVFX on such films as Midway, Godzilla vs Kong, Justice League Synder Cut and the James Gunn 2021 The Suicide Squad. While I was at MPC I worked on Tim Burton’s Dumbo 2019 and also Godzilla: King of Monsters. She is currently at Walt Disney Animation working on Encanto. She is a proud Gnomon Alumni who studied FX animation and also holds a bachelor degree in Game Art and Design. Along side of work she also runs THE VFX Club where she helps introduce our industry to young black and brown kids and of course THE VFX Club Podcast which she is currently recording season 4.
Marcus LeVere
With a career spanning over 20 years, Marcus has worked at such places as POP Film, Animal Logic, Lucasfilm / ILM and Zoic Studios. He excels at working with directors and crews on-set as well as leading teams of VFX artists in the studio. Originally from East Sussex England, he moved to Los Angeles after earning his B.A. from Manchester Metropolitan University.
